About the Organization: The ACLU-WI is affiliated with the national American Civil Liberties Union. We promote and defend the civil liberties and civil rights of all Wisconsin residents by means of education, litigation, and advocacy. The ACLU has more than 13,000 members in Wisconsin.

About the Position: The Development Coordinator serves as the expert of the donor database, providing a variety of functions including gift entry and tracking, data analysis, reporting, database management, and acknowledgment generation. This individual will work collaboratively with the Development Director to create and recommend solutions, and oversee controls and procedures in data management and best practices. In addition, the Development Coordinator will provide administrative support to the Development Director, work closely with the Executive Director, and in concert with other staff as assigned.

This is a full-time non-exempt position. Willingness and availability to work full-time (40 hours a week); evenings and weekends may be required in special circumstances. A valid Wisconsin driver’s license and access to a car is preferred, but not required.

Special Requirements/Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be a person with a demonstrated passion for civil liberties with experience supporting a non-profit advocacy organization and desire to build a career in fund development. Other qualifications include:

  • Familiarity with and deep commitment to a broad range of civil liberties issues;
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for a variety of audiences;
  • Experience with Salesforce is preferred, but not required;
  • Judgment to exercise discretion when handling potentially confidential or sensitive matters;
  • Enthusiasm, optimism and a sense of humor!

Estimated Salary: DOE, but will likely start at $15/hour (approximately $31,000 per year). Benefits include paid vacation and sick leave, medical and dental coverage for staff members, life insurance, short and long term disability insurance; and an optional 401(K).
