About the Organization: SCCADVASA is the statewide coalition of organizations providing intervention services to victims and survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault and Primary Prevention programs to students and communities across the state. We work towards ending domestic and sexual violence in South Carolina and beyond through engaging individuals and communities in advocacy, collaboration and education. We advocate for the transformative social change that will result in a society free of violence, push for policy changes that support survivors, and provide education and technical assistance to build the capacity of our members, allied organizations and communities to provide trauma-informed and survivor-centered services.

About the Position: This position’s primary focus is to work closely with the Coordinator of Primary Prevention and Specialized Advocacy and other SCCADVASA employees to develop and implement domestic and sexual violence primary prevention approaches and programming with a focus on at-risk populations and other community institutions. This position does not prove direct services to survivors, but rather works to create systemic and societal change that will improve the response to survivors across the state.

Full-time, exempt. This is a one year temporary, grant-funded position. Continuation will be dependent on funding availability. Some (mostly in-state) travel will be required. Must be able to secure reliable transportation, including driver’s license and proof of insurance if necessary when travel is required. Flexible scheduling to allow for work outside of business hours (8:30am-5:00pm)

Special Requirements/Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required. College Degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills. A targeted writing sample, social media examples and/or oral presentation may be required of all candidates for this position.
  • An understanding of the dynamics of all types of primary prevention, intimate partner violence and their intersections with other forms of oppression; A willingness to engage in training to further develop knowledge in these areas.
  • Ability to multitask and work well within time constraints.

Estimated Salary: $31,500 full-time, exempt. Medical, dental, short-term disability and life insurance (after qualifying period). Retirement benefits (after 1 year of employment).
