About the Organization: Turning Point of Lehigh Valley is a non-profit working to eliminate domestic violence in the Lehigh Valley through empowerment, education, and engagement. We provide services in Lehigh and Northampton counties and reach nearly 4,000 people a year through our programs and services. Those include: a 24-hour Helpline, Safe House, Counseling, Support Groups, Court Advocacy, Community Outreach, Prevention Education, and Medical Advocacy.

About the Position: We are expanding our Legal Advocacy team! Turning Point of Lehigh Valley, a non-profit working to eliminate domestic violence in the Lehigh Valley, is seeking an energetic, self-motivated professional to fill a Legal Advocate position. The Legal Advocate position provides support, information and referrals, advocacy and accompaniment services for victims of domestic violence within the civil and criminal legal systems throughout Lehigh and Northampton Counties. The work requires the ability to work independently and with considerable initiative and autonomous judgment. Primary responsibilities are emergency legal options counseling, court accompaniment, supportive counseling, systems advocacy and emergency financial assistance. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license.

Special Requirements/Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in social services or criminal justice is preferred, and/or demonstrated relevant work experience in social work or a criminal justice related field.
• Preferred candidates will be bilingual in Spanish and English.

Estimated Salary: Starting in the low $30,000’s, with excellent benefits, including competitive wages, health and life insurance; Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D, LTD, 403(b), Personal, Vacation and Sick time accruals. Full-time, non-exempt.
