About the Organization: The Mission of the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) is to promote and protect the health of all Virginians.
About the Position: Richmond City Health District (RCHD) is working to improve and expand its internal and external communication efforts and we need high-quality design work for all communications products to make them accessible, compelling and persuasive. RCHD is looking for a graphic designer to assist our Public Relations team with consistent branding, visuals and creative tone as we evolve our efforts in communicating the community about health equity and public health innovation in Richmond. The graphic designer will also assist with social media content creation and management and photography work as needed. This position will work closely with RCHD staff members from a broad range of service areas to understand the objectives, scope, audience, tone and other requirements of a project.
Special Requirements/Qualifications:
- Experience creating visual informational and marketing material.
- Demonstrate a clear sensitivity to diverse audiences and complex public health issues when designing material.
- Experience conducting research on innovative public health design and campaign work.
- Preferred experience as a photographer and creator/manager of social media content, particularly in the areas of public health or social justice.
Estimated Salary: $15 – $25/hour
