The National Young Farmers Coalition supports practices and policies that will sustain young, independent and prosperous farmers now and in the future.

The National Young Farmers Coalition will hold its 4th Annual National Leadership Convergence in Washington D.C. from November 12-15, 2018. The National Leadership Convergence is our annual flagship event and an opportunity for our nation’s young farmers to learn the critical advocacy tools that will make their voices heard on Capitol Hill. In 2018 we will host our largest contingent ever of young farmers and farmer leaders – we will bring together over 100 young farmers representing every national NYFC chapter for a three-day leadership training culminating in a Lobby Day on Capitol Hill.

About the Position: The NYFC is seeking a 2018 Convergence Event Coordinator from September to November 2018. The Coordinator will report to our National Chapter Coordinator and support this year’s event by primarily providing logistical support, coordinating with our sponsors and partners, and assisting with scheduling, speakers, and other event activities.

NYFC is looking to hire this part-time position to begin approximately September 3rd and conclude by November 19th. The employee can expect an average of 20 hrs. per week for the majority of the engagement but must be available for overtime (40-50 hour weeks) during the weeks of November 5 and 12 – including full-day activities during the Event.

Special Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills including proficiency with Google Suite.
  • Strong organizational and project/program management skills.
  • Self-driven, creative, eager to learn, comfortable with making decisions and acting on them.
  • Previous experience with large event planning and coordination.

Estimated Salary: $20-25/hr
