About the Organization: Since 1998, Merry Go Round Children’s Foundation has delivered the innovative Kids, Cops & Computers program which bridges Toronto’s digital divide by promoting access, equity and opportunity in the form of brand new laptop computers and support in the form in police mentorship to Grade 7 students. We partner with educators, police officers and subject matter experts to deliver programing that establishes healthy relationships and encourages youth to positively impact their communities. Our successful outcomes include improved tech literacy, improved grades, improved self-esteem, and greater community engagement. To date we have assisted more than 5,000 students in achieving their academic and social potential in Toronto and across Canada in partnership with the RCMP Foundation.

About the Position: The Development Assistant supports the advancement of Merry Go Round’s fundraising program. Working closely with the Development Officer, he/she provides general fundraising event support, recruits gifts and prizes for upcoming silent auction events related to two signature fundraising events, and updates gift records in the donor database, Causeview (Salesforce). The Development Assistant works collaboratively with the MGR team to achieve annual goals and objectives.

Special Requirements/Qualifications: Due to funder requirements, we are only able to accept applications from secondary and postsecondary students.

Estimated Salary: $14/hour
