Details and Requirements: NDI seeks a Program Assistant to join its Central and West Africa team and support staff in conducting the Institute’s day-to-day activities, as well as planning, designing and implementing programs related to strengthening civic organizations, political parties, election bodies, local government, and legislatures. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree, preferably in International Relations, Political Science or a related field; Demonstrated coursework and/or internship, professional experience in international development, community organizing, political campaigning, organizational development, legislative affairs or related subject; Experience working/traveling overseas preferred; Ability to effectively interact with all levels of staff, U.S. and foreign government personnel and NGO community; Good oral and written communication skills to effectively present information and respond to questions; Working knowledge of basic budget and accounting procedures; Ability and willingness to travel to regional locations, which are often remote and difficult to reach; Interest in and knowledge of regional political environment and people; Political analysis skills
