About the Organization: The Loretto Community is composed of Catholic vowed sisters and lay co-members, who live out the Community’s mission to “work for justice and act for peace because the Gospel urges us.” The Loretto Volunteer Program carries Loretto values into a new generation, by pairing young adult volunteers with social justice organizations for a formative year of service and communal living.
About the Position: The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator’s primary work is to help planning and implementation of volunteer support and engagement. Before our first group of Denver volunteers arrive in August, the Assistant Volunteer Coordinator will help secure housing, communicate with first-time placements, and connect with local Loretto Community members. The Assistant Volunteer Coordinator ensures that the program stays consistent with the inclusive, social justice values of the Loretto Community.
Special Requirements/Qualifications: BA/BS Degree; experience in social justice work, organizing, social services and/or campus ministry, preferably with experience facilitating discussion; Personal commitment to core program values [community, social justice, simple living, spirituality]; Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Estimated Salary: $20/hr for 10-15 hrs per week
