About the Organization: Oxfam International’s Washington, DC Advocacy Office is focused on the International Financial Institutions (IFIs), primarily the World Bank Group and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
About the Position: Oxfam International is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic intern to work closely with our IFI advocacy team, bouncing between campaigns and projects to support on research, internal and external communication, and coordination support around events and meetings. This position will provide support on a wide range of issues from climate change, to health, education, inequality and accountable development finance. The Intern will have the opportunity to be part of a dynamic and skilled team working with others in Oxfam in a diverse range of countries and cultures. They will gain practical and organizational skills, learn about key development issues, who and what drives change at the IFIs, and get an inside understanding of campaigning and advocacy in a large NGO. Contract: fixed-term 8-month internship.
Special Requirements/Qualifications: Our next successful intern will require a range of skills and experience: demonstrated interest in international development and/or human rights; understanding of and commitment to adhere to equity, diversity, gender, child safety and staff health and wellbeing principles; accuracy and strong attention to detail; strong oral and written communications skills.
Estimated Salary: $14/hour; This internship also offers a unique package which includes full health, dental and vision insurance, among other important benefits.
