About the Organization: WriteGirl is a creative writing and mentoring organization serving high school girls. Our mission is to help girls develop self-confidence and communication skills through writing relationships and workshops with women writers. Founded in 2001, WriteGirl is dedicated to using writing as a powerful force for positive social change. WriteGirl is a project of nonprofit organization Community Partners.
About the Position: Events Assistants needed for busy nonprofit organization, WriteGirl (www.writegirl.org). We are seeking part-time on-call support for events and event preparations. Duties may include preparation for events, phone and email correspondence, data entry, research, running errands, tracking inventory, transporting and setting up event materials, light manual labor such as lifting and moving boxes of books, and more.
This is an on-call position to assist with events and office support. Scheduled hours may include weekday daytime or evening hours and often Saturday daytime hours. Must have availability for Saturday daytime events (approximately 8:30 AM to 5 PM, averaging two days per month) and some weekday daytime hours. Scheduled hours vary, depending on our event schedule. Events take place in downtown LA, Pasadena, Glendale, and other locations around the greater Los Angeles area.
Special Requirements/Qualifications: Upbeat, pro-active, high-energy, “can do” attitude required. Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and basic computer skills (email, Google Suite, internet research). Must have reliable car and insurance.
