About the Organization: The Eleanor Crook Foundation is a growing family philanthropy that seeks innovative, multi-sector solutions to global hunger and malnutrition. We believe that improving global nutrition must become a top development priority. ECF seeks sustainable solutions and the highest yielding international development investments. In East Africa, ECF funds operational research programming and organizational capacity building to identify and improve nutrition-specific and nutrition-sensitive best practices, empower local actors, and foster new collaboration within and across food security and nutrition sectors. ECF also funds US and global advocacy efforts to increase financing and effectiveness of international food and nutrition aid. We pride ourselves on our willingness to push traditional development boundaries, learn, and iterate programs to make breakthroughs.

About the Position: ECF seeks a highly motivated intern to help grow the foundation from our office in Raleigh, North Carolina. Supporting the Operations Lead and working closely with the Executive Director, the Administration and Content Intern will help ECF staff draft and proofread written deliverables, support the day to day operations of a growing private foundation, and gain a better understanding of the global nutrition space.

The internship is a one-year position that will vary from 10 – 20 hours per week depending on the time of year, with the possibility of increased hours during the summer. The Foundation is able to offer some remote work and flexible hours for this position, however, we ask that only candidates based in the Triangle apply. The intern will be required to use his/her personal laptop.

Special Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor (completed or in progress) in communications, marketing, public administration, or other relevant area
  • Experience with writing, editing and basic research.
  • Knowledge of international development and global health and/or branding and web design is a plus

Estimated Salary: $15/hour
