About the Organization: IFS promotes the concept of field studies as an important educational method. These hands-on learning experiences, outside of the classroom, are successful in almost every discipline, including the natural sciences, creative arts, history, and physical education. IFS believes an interdisciplinary approach to learning is especially well suited to the field studies environment. IFS functions as a facilitator for educational groups seeking expertise and logistical support. IFS staff members, experienced field instructors, and resource materials are available to assist teachers and group leaders with educational development, site planning, and budgeting for a successful comprehensive field program.
About the Position: Duties may vary based on skill set and experience:
- Market research, social media, website analytics, content creation, Google AdWords, SEO analysis, and affiliate marketing
- Analysis of current marketing efforts to create an overall marketing plan for the organization
- Graphic design, data entry, and creation of print marketing materials
Must work 10-15 hours weekly between the hours of 9 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday. Internship runs for 4 months but could be extended if mutually beneficial.
Special Requirements/Qualifications:
- Marketing or Business Major (w/ an interest in Marketing)
- Experience with or desire to learn Google AdWords and Analytics, Google Applications, and other web-based applications including Squarespace, Mailchimp, and social media
- Strong written and oral skills
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and reliable
- Self-starter able to take direction and see projects through to completion
- Interest in small business or non-profit work and working in a small office environment
Estimated Salary: $10/hour. Credit for the internship is available
