Maine Equal Justice Partners is a nonprofit legal aid provider, whose mission is to find solutions to poverty and improve the lives of people with low income in Maine. Moxie is all about having courage and determination, and our mission to end poverty and improve the lives of Mainers with low income takes plenty of it.
We are looking for someone with moxie to join our legal assistance team part-time. The Moxie Case Coach will help Mainers with low income navigate Maine’s safety net programs, like food supplement, general assistance, TANF, and MaineCare.

- Know first-hand what it means to live in poverty or need public benefits to get by
- Want to work with Mainers living in poverty to help them meet their basic needs
- See that individual problems are often actually systemic problems and want to find lasting solutions that make it better for everyone
- Listen and communicate well with people from lots of different backgrounds – on the phone, in person, and in writing.
21 hours/week at $20/hour with prorated benefits.
