The Virginia Student Power Network is a coalition of young people organizing for more accessible, affordable, democratic, and diverse higher education in the Commonwealth, as well as social and racial justice on our campuses and in our communities. We’ve campaigned and won victories fighting for accessible higher education, for transparency in university governance, against white supremacy on our campuses, and more. Our partner organization, New Virginia Majority (NVM), Virginia’s leading civic engagement organization, builds power in working-class communities of color across the Commonwealth.
We seek conscious and skilled individuals with a deep commitment to racial and economic justice to join our team. Women, LGBTQ folks, and people of color are strongly encouraged to apply. Great opportunity for recently graduated folks who organized as undergrads and want to mentor and support an incredible network of student activists across Virginia.
Location is anywhere in Virginia, but preference for Richmond, Northern Virginia, or the Hampton Roads area.
This is a six-month-long position of 30 hrs/week starting ASAP. Compensation is a monthly pre-tax stipend of $2,000. The position comes with an excellent benefits package, including health, vision, dental, and stipends for phone and transportation.
