Details and Requirements: PEDS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to making streets and communities in Georgia safe, inviting, and accessible to all pedestrians. We work with transportation professionals and others to promote funding, building, and maintaining safe sidewalks and street crossings. We provide programs in metro Atlanta, as well as workshops and services benefitting people throughout Georgia. The Community Engagement Coordinator will build relationships with communities in the Atlanta region that increase the capacity, diversity and effectiveness of grassroots advocacy on issues surrounding walkability. The Coordinator will also help plan and implement training workshops and community events. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree desired; Degree in public administration, urban planning, social work, or public health desired; Experience in community or volunteer engagement, neighborhood associations, and/or grassroots activism; Experience with public speaking and making presentations required; Experience working with external partners, such as government agencies or neighborhood associations desired; Passionate about walking, safety and livable communities; Familiarity with neighborhoods in South and West Atlanta strongly desired; Skills in creating engaging visuals and marketing materials a plus; Ability to speak Spanish a plus. Available to begin work by August 15 Full-time, salaried non-exempt position, starting $35,000 – $38,000, with opportunity for growth
