Details and Requirements: For over 45 years, Curry Senior Center has been the only organization in San Francisco solely dedicated to helping low income and homeless seniors through a holistic care approach. Curry Senior Center is seeking applicants for a part-time position as LGBT Program Assistant. Candidates with a desire and experience to provide excellent program coordination for our LGBT senior clients are encouraged to apply. The LGBT Program Assistant plans and implements events for the LGBT senior population and acts as a care navigator, performing outreach and connecting isolated LGBT seniors with case management, behavioral health, and social programs. The successful LGBT Program Assistant is an advocate for LGBT elders and is able to enhance and support the emotional and behavioral well-being of underserved seniors. Requirements: Familiarity with social services in and near the Tenderloin neighborhood; Experience, knowledge and understanding of LGBT, senior, and minority communities in San Francisco; High-School/GED. This position is 12 hours/weekly with flexible scheduling except Wednesdays from 10:30am-1:30pm and Thursdays from 12:30am-3:00pm which are required for existing programs. Existing programs include the Women’s Revolutionary Society and Big Gay Movie Day.
