Details and Requirements: Equality for Flatbush (E4F) is a people of color-led, multi-national grassroots organization that does anti-police repression, affordable housing and anti-gentrification organizing in Flatbush, East Flatbush and Brooklyn-wide. E4F was created as a direct response to the increase in tenant and police harassment due to gentrification. We organize our communities for social change and justice through street outreach, social media campaigns, political advocacy and direct action.

The Legal Services Coordinator will administratively support E4F’s private attorney partners, enabling E4F to provide free/low cost legal services to members of our community. The Legal Services Coordinator will also help unrepresented litigants (especially tenants in housing court) navigate the court system, access free legal services, and obtain vital resources ~ Ideal Candidate Will Be: Radical, progressive legal worker looking to work with a grassroots social justice organization; Personable and dynamic, with a passion for working with the community ~ Preferred: Experienced legal worker with background in housing and/or criminal court; Proficient in Haitian Creole, Spanish, and/or other languages mentioned above which are relevant to the communities we serve. Part-time (approx. 20 hrs. per week) with flexibility. Ability to work both daytime and evening hours preferred. Competitive hourly rate, with opportunity for advancement.
