About the Organization: The Reproductive Rights Activist Service Corps(RRASC) summer internship program application is open! RRASC is a 10-week paid summer internship program sponsored by the Civil Liberties and Public Policy Program at Hampshire College. Undergraduate students intern at reproductive justice and social justice organizations around the country. Organizations work on a wide array of issues from reproductive health, economic justice, immigrant rights, rights of indigenous peoples, LGBTQ rights, human rights, intimate partner abuse, and mass incarceration.
About the Position: Students selected for the program receive:
- A full-time 10-week substantive internship at a reproductive rights and/or social justice organization with a $3500 stipend
- An intensive 3 day training at the annual CLPP Conference. Training will include workshops on non-profit organizations, grassroots organizing, effective communication, self-care, and reproductive and social justice.
- Continued support and training throughout the summer. An online community where the Summer 2019 cohort will post reflective weekly reports
- An opportunity to present their work at the 2020 CLPP Conference
Special Requirements/Qualifications: We welcome students with varying degree of knowledge and experience with reproductive rights and social justice. We have a mix of majors each year. We welcome all undergraduate students including non-traditional and community college students. You are not required to identify as a woman; each year we receive applications from folks of various gender identities and expressions.
To be eligible for a RRASC internship, you must: be an undergraduate student at a US college/university, NOT be graduating in spring/summer 2019, and be returning to school Fall 2019; AND be able to attend the annual CLPP conference (April 12-14, 2019) on the campus of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. (We will cover all travel and lodging costs for non-local students; attending the CLPP conference is a mandatory requirement. Hampshire College is about 2 hours from Boston and 3 hours from New York City.).
Estimated Salary: Flat $3,500 stipend for full-time (30 hours/week), 10 weeks. This works out to $11.66/hour. CLPP will also pay for your air fare (or bus or train fare) to and from your internship orgranization’s city.
