About the Position: Population Connection seek a part-time, temporary employee to support the Membership Relations, Marketing, and Development teams in their efforts to motivate and engage Population Connection’s membership base. Based in the San Diego office, our Membership Relations team cultivates relationships with member activists, and the Marketing and Development teams manage print marketing and other special fundraising projects. The Marketing & Development Assistant will be tasked with assisting in outreach, relationship building with members and prospective members, and data processing.
This position is only available in our San Diego, CA office; Must reside within commuting distance to our office in San Diego. This position will be similar to an internship. We offer a flexible schedule, 15-25 hours/week available for a six-month period.
Special Requirements/Qualifications: We seek a motivated team player with excellent writing and verbal communication skills. The right candidate will be familiar with and dedicated to improving women’s access to birth control and reproductive health care and dedicated to preserving our environmental resources for the next generation.
- Background and interest in global population, reproductive health and rights, and the environment; must be fully pro-choice
- Must be comfortable spending a significant amount of time on the phone; Excellent verbal communication and writing skills, and computer proficiency
- Must be highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Previous community organizing and/or activism experience preferred
Estimated Salary: $15/hour for 15-25 hours/week, September 2018 – January 2019
