About the Organization: Mid Coast Hunger Prevention Program is working to reduce hunger by providing food assistance, strategies for sustainable living and referral services to households living at or below poverty in the greater Brunswick area. MCHPP‘s mission is to provide hungry people with access to healthy food, work to improve the quality of their lives by partnering with others, and serve them in a manner that recognizes their dignity.

About the Position: The Program Coordinator is primarily responsible for the everyday operations of the Soup Kitchen and will provide support to MCHPP’s other programs and future initiatives.

Special Requirements/Qualifications: First and foremost, this candidate must have a desire to help improve the lives of people in our community. This position requires a candidate who can listen to and communicate effectively with clients and volunteers alike.

  • Positive attitude and excellent problem solving and analytical skills; Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Strong and professional interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to communicate effectively, patiently, and respectfully with a diverse group of individuals
  • Ability to, but not limited to, twist, bend, crouch, squat, and reach, and lift above shoulders including while on a ladder; Ability to pull, push and lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner when working with community partners, clients and volunteers; Ability to establish boundaries and set limits with a diverse population

Estimated Salary: $14 – $16 per hour DOE, 35 hours/week + benefits
