About the Organization: Think Dignity is a 501c3 non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire, empower, and organize our community to advance basic dignity for those living on the streets. Formerly known as Girls Think Tank, Think Dignity was started in 2006 by a group of young professional women who wanted to find real solutions to the issue of homelessness in their community. Think Dignity takes pride in the fact that it is a small, grassroots organization with strong ties to the community it serves.
About the Position: Think Dignity is seeking a MOD (Mobile Operations Dignity) Squad Programs Coordinator to work at the Fresh Start Showers, Street Café, and Street Boutique sites across San Diego County. The mobile Fresh Start Showers events occur at different host sites throughout the County. Our shower events are a holistic hub where homeless guests can receive basic hygiene services and have access to food, clothing, hygiene products, haircuts, community resources and more. The Street Boutique/Street Café events occur at different host sites throughout the City of San Diego where guests can receive new undergarments and menstruation products/fresh food, respectively.
The Programs Coordinator will work directly with shower guests signing them in, helping them fill out paperwork, getting them items they need to take a shower and provide referral information to those seeking additional resources to community agencies/organizations. The Coordinator will also be responsible for arriving early to set up for the shower event and clean up following the event. The Programs Coordinator will also help coordinate volunteers and assign them to the different roles and responsibilities of shower volunteers.
Flexibility is a key aspect of Programs Coordinator position; working nights and/or weekends may be required.This position also requires the ability to work outside as well as stand for extended periods of time.

- Flexibility in schedule (available some weekends/evenings)
- Strong writing and communication skills
- Must have personal transportation
- Minimum Bachelor’s degree
- Experience working with Google Drive
- Bilingual a plus (Spanish)
Estimated Salary: $14/hour, full time. NOTE: Dr. Amy Glasmeier at MIT estimates the living wage in San Diego to be $15.01
