About the Organization: The Global Catholic Climate Movement is a community of Catholic institutions and individuals responding to the Pope’s call to action in the Laudato Si’ encyclical. We are lay people, priests, religious, bishops and a global network of partners working together on the climate change crisis, to protect God’s creation, the poor–who are the most vulnerable to climate disruption–and our children, who will face the worst impacts in the coming years.
About the Position: This September, the Global Climate Action Summit will take place in San Francisco, a major event bringing together climate leaders from around the world. At this event, non-state actors will make their own commitments to reducing their greenhouse gas emissions. This is a short-term contract of 10-12 hours/week, with more hours the week of the Global Climate Action Summit, and ending on Sept. 30, 2018. Special Requirements/Qualifications: • Knowledge with San Francisco, key locations, and geography of the region
• Experience managing events and event logistics
• Familiarity with key faith-based and secular environmental organizations. Ideal candidate would have contacts and experience working with the local Catholic community.
