Details and Requirements: The Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC) is a regional economic development agency that represents a partnership of federal, state, and local government. ARC’s mission is to be a strategic partner and advocate for sustainable community and economic development in Appalachia. POWER (Partnerships for Opportunity and Workforce and Economic Revitalization) is a congressionally funded initiative to help communities and regions that have been affected by job losses in coal mining, coal power plant operations, and coal-related supply chain industries due to the changing economics of America’s energy production. The POWER Initiative supports efforts to create a more vibrant economic future for coal-impacted communities by cultivating economic diversity, enhancing job training and re-employment opportunities, creating jobs in existing or new industries, and attracting new sources of investment. This position will be the facilitator responsible for a broad range of tasks encompassing the full lifecycle of the initiative; work will include coordination with the 13 ARC states that compose the Appalachian Region. Salary: ARC’s grade NF 9/11 is equivalent to the federal grade GS 9/11.
