Details and Requirements: Human Rights Initiative of North Texas (“HRI”) provides legal and support services to refugees and immigrants who have suffered human rights abuses, advocates for justice and promotes international human rights. The Marketing & Special Events Coordinator plans and executes the annual marketing and special events plan for the agency. This position will be responsible for increasing community awareness of HRI’s mission, strengthening overall brand and communications and thus building new and bolstering existing ties with various stakeholders, including other non-profit organizations, community leaders, media outlets, donor base, educational institutions, foundations, and more. Essential Job Qualifications: Experience in marketing/public relations and event-planning; Must be committed to and enthusiastic about human rights, including wanting to work with traumatized adult and child victims of abuse and violence; Willing and able to pitch stories to news outlets, request sponsorships; Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing social media platforms; Willing and able to manage volunteers and work with board members as necessary; Comfortable with public speaking. Desired Qualifications: Proficiency in Adobe design suite (PhotoShop, InDesign, Illustrator) highly preferred; Native or professional working level of written and spoken Spanish proficiency.
