Details and Requirements: NMIC was founded in 1979 to serve the low-income residents of Washington Heights and has since grown to serve residents throughout the city, with a focus on Upper Manhattan and the Bronx. Our mission is to serve as a catalyst for positive change in the lives of the people in our community on their paths to secure and prosperous futures. Through our work, we preserve affordable housing through legal services, community organizing, and building weatherization, promote economic self-sufficiency with adult education and workforce development and offer supports of social services, health education, domestic violence intervention and immigration legal services. NMIC’s Immigration Paralegals work closely with our highly skilled and experienced interdisciplinary legal team. Paralegals provide assistance to NMIC clients in a variety of immigration matters and collaborate with partner organizations, including but not limited to ActionNYC. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree preferred. Associate’s degree or paralegal certificate will be considered. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in immigration law. Fluency in Spanish is required.
