Details and Requirements: The New York Legal Assistance Group has an immediate opening for a paralegal in the LGBTQ Law Project to support attorneys providing consultation, advocacy and representation on a wide array of civil legal matters, including family law matters, legal name and gender marker changes, housing and employment discrimination, immigration, wills and advance directives, and public benefits. Qualifications: Experience and/or interest in public interest law and advocacy work related to LGBTQ and poverty issues; Experience working with lesbian, bisexual, gay, trans, gender non-conforming, intersex, and queer individuals and a demonstrated understanding of the unique needs faced by this community; Paralegal or administrative experience preferred; Experience working directly with clients preferred. Ability to speak Spanish is required.
