Details and Requirements: This position will be critical to helping low-income Californians access free legal information in the years to come. As civil liberties are threatened, the Legal Aid Association of California (LAAC) supports the legal safety net by working to secure funding, encouraging collaboration between organizations, and facilitating communication through lists and conferences. This is a great entry-level position for someone interested in legal nonprofits, considering law school, or access to justice to justice issues. Located in Oakland, the Program Associate will report directly to the Program Attorney and will work closely with other program staff.
Qualifications: B. A. or B.S.; Project management experience; Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills; Familiarity with Photoshop, InDesign, and electronic newsletter platforms a plus; Comfort in learning new technologies and in explaining them to others; Experience working with low-income and underserved communities preferred.
