Details and Requirements: Represent.Us is building a movement to end corruption so the people can once again be represented by their government. Our focus is passing tough new anti-corruption laws. Each law stops political bribery, ends secret money, and lets voters decide who funds their elections. Represent.Us seeks an Online Campaigner (OC) to create and distribute digital content via email, social media, and Represent.Us web properties. This is an entry-level position for college graduates ready to turn their online skills into political action. We’re looking for people who are eager and ready to learn new skills, want to work hard, and who won’t be satisfied until they win.
You: Are a creative and analytical thinker: you like to come up with headlines & imagery, and also to crunch numbers and nerd out with a spreadsheet; Can write persuasively and boil complex issues down to a single sentence; Have an opinion about what works online and can point to examples to back it up; Are excited to learn new tools and aren’t afraid of HTML; Want to make the world better and won’t shy away from pointing blame; Love collaborating with others and can work independently; Sweat the details. Skills & Experience: Ability to learn new skills quickly; Data analysis skills; Some experience with online organizing; Background in political advocacy, organizing, digital activism, public policy, or related field; Video, graphics, or photography work; Excellent writing and communication skills; spelling and grammar snobs are encouraged to apply; Technical skills, including knowledge of HTML, CSS, etc (preferred). Salary $40K-$55K. This position is available in Northampton, MA or San Francisco, CA. Telecommuting is not accommodated at this time.
