Details and Requirements: The organizer will work with our frontline and community of color allies and our volunteers on an initiative to aggressively reduce local greenhouse gas emissions in a manner that directly promotes economic opportunities for low-income people and people of color. The organizer will also support 350PDX’s internal efforts to increase skills and commitment among our supporters, staff and volunteers in applying a stronger social justice lens in all of our work advocating for solutions to climate disruption. Requirements: Culturally competent and responsive, with an understanding and appreciation of diverse cultures and communities; Demonstrated interest, understanding and commitment to climate justice and/or social justice; Detail oriented, with strong organization and project management skills; Ability to plan effectively, meet deadlines and coordinate others’ involvement within a dynamic and fast-paced setting; Excellent written and verbal communication skills; Strong computer skills including the ability to quickly learn new software and technology platforms; Resourceful, flexible and self-motivated. The following qualifications are desirable: Grassroots organizing experience; Campaign management experience; DEI training/planning experience; Experience working with culturally diverse groups/communities.
