Details and Requirements: We strive to shift the overarching mindset and approach to health from one that focuses solely on treating sick individuals, to one that prevents disease, violence and injury before they occur. Determined to improve health and safety for everyone, PI builds prevention and equity into key policies and actions to transform the places where people live, work, play, and learn. PI’s work is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach and a strong commitment to community participation and promotion of equitable health outcomes among all social and economic groups.
This position has been designed for people early in their careers specifically to support the work of the organization while providing exposure to prevention practice, advocacy and policy, including the field of public health. Most previous program assistants have gone on to graduate school (in public health, social work, public policy, law or medicine), been promoted within the organization, or applied their newly developed skills in other non-profit or government settings that share a common vision. Requires Bachelor’s degree and/or minimum two years’ relevant experience.
