Communications Summer Internship at Biomimicry Institute

Details and Requirements: The Biomimicry Institute is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that empowers people to create nature-inspired solutions for a healthy planet. The Institute focuses on developing sustainability innovators, both current and future, via biomimicry design challenges (the Biomimicry Global Design Challenge and the Youth Design Challenge), the Biomimicry Launchpad, and resources like AskNature.org, an online database of nature’s design solutions and the products and ideas they’ve inspired.

We’re looking for a nature-loving writer and communicator who is eager to spread the word about nature-inspired design, our programs, and the people they impact. This internship will focus on outreach, marketing, and storytelling by advocating for biomimicry and the Institute’s Global Design Challenge and Launchpad programs. Essential Skills: Excellent and persuasive writer, preferably with experience interviewing people and writing journalistic-style pieces; Background in one or more of the following preferred: nonprofit administration, marketing, communications, journalism, or natural sciences. Approximately 20 hours/week from June 25, 2018 – August 19, 2018 (start and end dates flexible), Pay: $12.00 / hour. **Positions in Missoula, Montana or Portland, Oregon – double check the location on the postings, which have the same title!!!!*
