Details and Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Wildlife Management or closely related field, plus a minimum of one year professional work experience in wildlife/natural resource management and/or research. Considerable knowledge of: Arizona flora and fauna, wildlife habitat requirements; Community planning concepts; Planning and zoning regulations and processes; Recreational planning and project implementation; Analyzing/ managing complex spatial data using GIS; Interpreting wildlife connectivity models; Locating potential funding sources and writing grants; Land management planning by federal agencies; Stakeholder-driven conservation planning and implementation. Working knowledge of: Fish and wildlife ecology and management; Wildlife impacts/issues associated with urban/exurban development, energy and communications infrastructure and transportation infrastructure and planning; Habitat evaluation and project impact analysis; Environmental laws and regulations; Resource management planning on public lands; Mitigation of impacts to fish and wildlife resources; The North American model of wildlife conversation. Other necessary skills include: GIS; Developing and maintaining positive relationships with a culturally diverse client population; Public speaking; Locating technical information from scientific literature and other sources; Written communication via technical reports, briefing papers, and formal correspondence.
