Details and Requirements: Safe Horizon’s mission is to provide support, prevent violence and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities. The Brooklyn Criminal Court program provides a safe reception center and various services to assist survivors and victims of crime navigate through the Criminal Court. The Coordinator is responsible for providing holistic support services to victims of all crimes. This includes counseling and crisis intervention to assess the needs of victims and to help with the development of safety plans to address immediate risks and concerns. ~ Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; Sensitivity towards and understanding of victimization, especially the experience of survivors of domestic violence; Strong communication and organizational skills; Ability to work under pressure in a calm and reassuring manner. Ability to generate own tasks and develop creative solutions to problems. ~ Desirable: Experience working with survivors of domestic violence and other victims of crime; Experience with the criminal justice system; Bilingual in Spanish or other language preferred.
